Layered lentils and rice

Soak lentils overnight, cook in boiling water 30 min. Pour salted boiling water over rice, cook until done. Chop garlic. Heat tomato puree in 1 tbsp oil, bring to a boil, add vinegar, salt, sugar, garlic, bring to a boil. Slice onion into rings, fry in remaining oil until golden. Layer lentils, then rice on top, pour over sauce, garnish with onion.
